Once I was coming back from Mombasa (Kenya) to Europe at the altitude of 8.000 feets. Around the half of the flight we were flying above the Nile River. I never saw It from my own eyes, only in documentaries, movies and my parents cruise pictures. With my forehead pushed on the window I was childly hoping I could see It from up there. That could greet Him at least once in my life even from far away up there and quite on a rush. Luckily the sky was clear and I could see the ochre ground spread all over my eyes could see. I was checking our route on the visor in front of me and it seemed that we were really above It. After a few minutes of silent sand flowing suddenly, like an order from above, the grass started to apear and the green and the palms and the houses and the streets and the fields.... and finally, The River.
The most Magnificent River I have ever seen, with on both sides a large band of green that was attending Him like an happy escort.
But away from Him the earth was soon becoming desert.
Even from up there you could feel his majesty.
A giant tongue of water cutting through the desert and around Her... Life.
It really seemed the king parade with the parting crowd around it.
It really impressed me how the green soon becomes desert.
How easily life becomes empty away from good.

From that vision this artwork was born
